Individual, Couples and Family
Lisa Bahar provides individual, couples and family therapy. She works from a collaborative model of psychotherapy and uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in most of her sessions. Her first session is designed to create rapport and understanding of the client’s needs and to define therapeutic goals. Depending on the initial assessment, Lisa Bahar generally meets with clients one time per week unless more support is needed.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Informed Skills Training
DBT Skills Training provides clients with the “What” and “How” skills to deal with issues including emotionally reactive behaviors, inability to express feelings effectively, difficulties in managing stress and surviving crisis and difficulties with being able to self calm. DBT is based on Dr. Marsha Linehan’s 2nd Edition DBT Workbook and Handouts. All clients joining DBT need to have an individual therapist.
Lisa Bahar offers Cinema Therapy, a unique group of using film stories to facilitate the psychotherapeutic process and experience. Cinema Therapy creates a reflection process for clients to share insights gained from film in a creative and healing environment.
